Dr. Suvrashis Sarkar is an alumnus of the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and an Executive alumnus of IIM Indore. In his 23 plus years of career till now, he has 18 years of corporate work experience in internationally renowned organizations like Unilever, Sojitz, Bajaj Electricals, Sahara India. His corporate work journey spanned from a trainee to VP–Marketing. In his corporate experience Dr. Sarkar has worked in India and South-East Asian markets with his area of work largely in Strategic Marketing, Brand Management, Product Management, Design Thinking, IPR, Marketing Research and Media Communication. Along with his corporate work, he pursued his passion for teaching as a visiting faculty in several Management Institutes including his alma-mater for 19 years before becoming a full-time academician.
Dr. Sarkar has four Post-Graduations and after his PhD in Strategic Marketing he did his post-Doctoral work which marked the beginning of his journey in full-time academic teaching. He has trained over 5000 MBAs and Business Management professionals so far. He mentors junior to middle Management Corporate Executives, PhDs and also start-up Entrepreneurs on Marketing, Brand Management and Strategy. Dr. Sarkar has been an award winner in his career for most of his endeavours. Best Student of the School, Topper in Post-Graduation, Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Marketing, Four-times Best Research Paper Award, Research Excellence Award, Academic Excellence Award, Start-up mentoring Award, Merit Award for contribution in Academics and Research, are some from his long list of accolades.
Dr. Suvrashis Sarkar is the proud recipient of MET Gaurav Award in 2025 and MET Pragnyavant Award in 2024 for his Academic Excellence and contribution to Research. He has three Indian Patents and one German Patent, 47 Research papers (in ABDC, SCOPUS and UGC listed journals) and 4 Books as a result of his Research work till now. He has travelled to 11 countries beyond India so far in Europe, South-East Asia, Middle-East, East African, gathering lot of knowledge on cultures, consumers and markets, he is a wild-life photographer and works with NGOs for Nature Conservation.

Dr. Suvrashis Sarkar is Dean of the institute conducting Post Graduate Programme in Mass Communication & Media Management. As a Dean, Dr. Sarkar's role is to lead the institute and mentor professionals on Brand Building, Marketing Management, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking and Innovation. He won the MET GAURAV Award in 2025 for his National and International Achievements in Business Management.

He has been instrumental in new businesses research, creating 5 key TV ad-campaigns and new corporate mascot. He managed a team of Communication personnel, several advertising agencies, media agencies, production houses, designers and choreographers for 360o ATL & BTL communication. He has managed SEO, SEM and SMM campaigns, managed several Indian celebrities for corporate advertising in an annual marketing budget of Rs. 200 Crores plus.

He contributed to grow the Fans business from Rs.180 Crores to Rs.450 Crores in 4 years. He contributed to create several new product categories of which Bajaj-Disney Fans for kids was the biggest success as a co-branded venture with Walt Disney Company. He played a key role in getting Quality Management certification for Head-Office functions of Marketing Management, Sales Management and Supply Chain Management.
